Los termistores NTC, o termistores de coeficiente de temperatura negativo, son dispositivos que cambian la resistencia en respuesta a los cambios de temperatura. En las piezas con coeficiente negativo, su resistencia disminuye a medida que aumenta su temperatura. Por lo general, se definen con variables como el valor de resistencia base de las piezas a una temperatura establecida, generalmente 25 °C, y los valores B, la curva de rendimiento de temperatura frente a resistencia calibrada entre dos puntos fijos.
