Los controladores de diodo ideales, también llamados controladores de junta tórica, son dispositivos diseñados para controlar un transistor de paso externo (generalmente un FET) de una manera que permite que la corriente fluya en una sola dirección, similar a un diodo rectificador pero con una pérdida de conducción significativamente menor. Entre otras aplicaciones, se utilizan comúnmente para proporcionar protección contra flujo inverso en fuentes de alimentación diseñadas para conectarse en paralelo por motivos de redundancia o mayor capacidad de corriente de salida.
