La compresión de datos proporciona velocidades de transmisión mejoradas y espacio de almacenamiento reducido. Algunos CODEC proporcionan hasta 32 bits de resolución y hasta seis u ocho convertidores de analógico a digital y de digital a analógico, respectivamente.
